Program Overview
Compounding pharmacies allow physicians to prescribe customized medication formulations that are not commercially available. This is particularly useful when a patient requires a specific dosage form, combination of ingredients, or needs a medication free of certain excipients or allergens.
We work directly with licensed compounding pharmacies to ensure quality, consistency, and appropriate clinical oversight of all compounded prescriptions. Each formulation is prescribed based on clinical evaluation, relevant laboratory data, and the patient's documented treatment history.
Working with Compounding Pharmacies
Commercial pharmaceuticals are manufactured in standardized dosages and delivery forms. For many patients, these work well. But when a clinical situation calls for a non-standard dose, a specific combination of active ingredients, or a formulation without a particular excipient, compounding is the appropriate solution.
All compounded prescriptions from Cadence Clinic are sent to licensed, accredited compounding pharmacies that meet USP standards for sterile and non-sterile preparations. We verify potency testing and review beyond-use dating for each formulation category we prescribe.
Custom Hormone Formulations
Compounded hormone formulations in customized dosages and delivery forms (such as creams, troches, or capsules) prescribed based on the patient's clinical presentation and lab results.
Dermatologic Compounds
Custom topical formulations for acne, hyperpigmentation, scarring, and photoaging. These combine active ingredients at targeted concentrations matched to clinical severity for individual skin care needs.
Pain Management Formulations
Topical analgesic formulations for localized pain management when systemic medications are undesirable or contraindicated.
Specialty & Allergen-Free Medications
Compounded medications for patients with documented allergies to standard inactive ingredients (dyes, gluten, lactose, preservatives), or when a commercial formulation is unavailable or discontinued.
